Itamar in April 2019

Itamar is a Los Angeles-based electric guitarist, multi-instrumentalist, with a bachelor’s degree from one of the world’s premier music conservatories, Berklee College of Music. Although known primarily for trailblazing modern guitar technique in reggae music via fierce and energetic live performances, Itamar is also an experienced audio engineer, producer, and songwriter. His first standout piece was his group OSIRISFIRE’s 2014 anthem “Locked Down”, which featured Brooklyn-based soul singer Joanna Teters and renowned guitarist Jeff Lockhart, with whom Itamar has also studied. Itamar then followed up with a full-length release “Impart the Sun”, which featured musicians from American reggae heavyweights John Brown’s Body as well as the Australian pop group the Veronicas, and established himself as a unique force in an ever-blooming genre that is constantly modernizing and continuing to grow.

Itamar’s freelance guitar work has taken him onstage at headlining shows in over 30 cities, on three national coast-to-coast tours, on live TV appearances on several major networks, onstage at prestigious festivals including Reggae on the River and Art Basel Miami, & on bills with legends like Sly and Robbie, Yellowman, Tarrus Riley and Third World, Slighty Stoopid, J Boog, and more. Currently he is the guitarist and co-vocalist of LA-based Double Tiger, led by singer Jay Spaker of JBB. Itamar’s sound on guitar provides an original and fresh blend of East Coast firmness with the ethereal psychedelia of the traditional Cali vibes. In addition to his work in OSIRISFIRE and with Double Tiger, Itamar provides guitar accompaniment for R&B and soul singers in the Los Angeles area.

In his spare time Itamar enjoys playing basketball, cooking, socializing, and keeping up with global events. He is bilingual and had lived on three continents by young adulthood.
